In Support of MachBlog

To celebrate the announcement of the public beta for MachBlog and to support the continued community efforts of Matt Woodward and Peter Farrell I've installed MachBlog on my site and this is my first post.
So what can you expect from this blog? Well -- posts about ColdFusion, Flex, and whatever else I happen to want to share :)

By the way -- if you were a big fan of my old site and you're disappointed that I took it down, you can view it here in all of its glory..

Thanks guys.<br /><br />Yeah Steve, I'll have to look into toning the Captcha down a bit. I know there have been several posts over the last year or so on configuring Lyla to do just that. It probably also makes sense to make Lyla Captcha somewhat configurable from the MachBlog config file -- if it isn't there already, I'll put in a request.

Ok, it's all set. My comment about making Lyla Captcha customizable from the config was made in ignorance -- I didn't realize there was a config file for Lyla itself.<br /><br />I made it simpler by removing all the lines, ovals, etc.; reversed the letter and background tones; shortened the string length; and the characters now display in all caps. Seems like a big improvement to me, but let me know if you think it's still "hahd". :)

Bernie,<br /><br />I toned down the hardness (although not as much as you) in the repo for MachBlog. So future versions on out of the box installs are a bit more simpler.<br /><br />Best,<br />.Peter

Thanks Peter. Modifying the config was pretty straight forward (mostly thanks to the excellent documentation at http://lyla.maestropublishing.com/FAQ.cfm#9)<br /><br />Brian -- I'll post my picture on the About page at some point but don't be surprised if it's a slightly younger version of the guy in that link. LOL -- despite the age difference if you ever caught be running like that it's a safe bet that I'd be on the ground holding my side about 3 seconds later.<br /><br />There DOES appear to be a problem with comment subscriptions. If you don't get an email, let me know and I'll submit a bug.

Thanks Steve -- I'm looking forward to saying stuff you're willing to follow :)<br /><br />Thanks Ben -- I can't take credit for the design though -- Matt and/or Peter got it from SmallPark (see link below) and made it the default skin for MachBlog.
